After five days of staying in our cabin as the wind, snow, and ice played outside, we ventured out this afternoon when the sun came out and blessed us with fifty-degree temperatures. We headed over to Fires Creek Recreation Area where Fires Creek meets up with Leatherwood Branch and Falls. It’s a lovely spot very close to our house with falls that are easily seen from the parking area. Paths lead up to the top of the falls.
I love North Carolina. We have a cabin near Waynesville southwest of Asheville that’s just north of Looking Glass Falls near the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s in Canton, but nobody’s ever heard of Canton. HA!

Not sure where Canton is myself, but I do know where Waynesville is. We’re perhaps an hour and a half from there.

We only get up once or twice a year. Will have to look you up. 🙂

Yes, it is. We’ve seen three seasons so far and spring awaits. This time of year is great for actually seeing the contour of the mountains.

Thanks. It’s not very colorful right now so it was a bit difficult to capture properly. It was good to get out and move around a bit.

I’m jealous of you and your gorgeous ‘estate.’ We should do one of those holiday/vacation exchanges!
