Are you concerned about climate change?

By P.C. Zick@PCZick

As we celebrate the 42nd Earth Day, take a moment to consider what we know about global warming and climate change. How many of us believe that our climate is changing? A recent Gallup shows that we are less concerned with climate change and global warming issues now than we were in 2008.

The Pittsburgh Post Gazette published a thought-provoking article  today, April 22, 2012, on the topic.

Let me know what you think.

Are you concerned about climate change? Do you believe the scientists?

  1. Since the Industrial Revolution, it seems western countries have been hell bent on pursuing a path of global destruction. Now that eastern countries such as China have hopped on the bandwagon of consumerism and acquisition, we’ve almost reached the point of no return. Yet we’ve become so entrenched in a way of life that doesn’t work for the planet as a whole, we’re stuck on this precarious path. One day I weep for the drowning polar bears. The following day I turn my airconditioning down a notch, because I’ve grown accustomed to creating any climate I choose in my home. Until, as individuals, we’re prepared to make the little sacrifices necessary to bring about small changes that will collectively count, our voices on the big issues will remain muted.

  2. Beautifully stated, Joan. It may seem a small thing to turn off the water while we brush our teeth, but if all of us did that it would make a huge collective difference. Thanks for sharing.
